About Me

My name is Zoe Womack

I'm a professional Japanese-English translator and linguist
based in Australia.

I've been translating part time since 2012,
and full time since late 2022.

I have a Master of Translation Studies (Japanese) with Distinction from the University of Western Australia,
where I graduated with a perfect GPA and was even valedictorian!

So, you could say that I have a passion for perfection!

You can read about my experience with the Translation Studies course on the University of Western Australia's website.

As a native English speaker with a strong background in linguistics and the language industry,
I have excellent knowledge of English grammar and punctuation.

Combined with my advanced research skills, keen eye for detail, and passion for perfection,
you can rest assured that your translations will be accurate, grammatically correct, and well written!

I have a deep understanding of the Japanese language and culture through
living in Japan for 9 years and passing JLPT N1, the highest level of the
Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Having a strong background in the Japanese language also means that I have the ability to understand complex (and even abstract!) Japanese texts and pinpoint their underlying messages and intent
— an indispensable skill for a professional translator!

You can hear more about my journey to becoming a translator in my valedictory speech video below.
